Overview
Why are you upgrading to 1.17?
Lately we've found ourselves extremely limited with the features of 1.12 and would love to take advantage of everything 1.17 has to offer! There are countless effect improvements, RP advancements, features and possibilities we're gaining by making this move and we're so excited to be able to offer it to our players?
Will I still be able to play on 1.12?
For the first while yes we will backport support for people who would like to play on 1.12 or any version prior to 1.17.1. However, this support won't last forever and is only meant to exist for a temporary transition period as we cannot fully begin some of our amazing new features until the majority of our playerbase has switched to 1.17! (Trust me, you guys would not believe some of the stuff we are working on right now)
How will the upgrade work? Am I going to lose my items?
We’re currently doing everything we can to make the process of upgrading as seamless as possible for the user. Your inventory, enderchest, lockers, bank balance and everything else will be exactly the same and you will not need to do anything to other than changing the game version you currently use if you’re on 1.12!
Features & Advancements
Through this last month and a half we’ve made countless advancements and improvements to the server. We’re so excited to roll all of these out for all of you to enjoy. If you have any additional questions feel free to send me a dm on discord @Cam ツ#9844 and I’d be happy to answer or help you out! If you have feature requests specifically based on 1.17 or new content you’d like to see just add [1.17] In front of your suggestion!
New Features
- Multi Server Teleporting
- We're happy to announce that /tpa is now a multi server command! This means you can now send requests to players on different parts of the network and be automatically taken directly to them
- Party Payout Multiplier
- After numerous suggestions we've decided to implement a small ride multiplier for riding with friends in your party! You can earn upto a 0.50 multiplier (0.10 per rider) on every ride!
- 24 hour world time
- Another highly requested feature has been a sync'd 24 hour time. This means now that the server time ingame coresponds to whatever your timezone is! All players will have the ability to do /timezone and select a different timezone if they'd like to change their prefered timezone. Additionally, donors will still have access to /ptime to alter your time manually.
- Photopass Expiration
- Our photopass release has been a bigger hit than we could of ever hoped. On average you guys are generating over 1200 photopasses every day! (That's insane by the way) and unfortunately we've quickly racked up a few to many photos for us to efficiently handle. To combat this we'll be implementing a photopass expiration system. Everytime you finish a ride going forward we'll check for the highest rank on the ride to determine how long the photo has before auto expiring. Here is a breakdown of the times till expiration
- DVC+ last for 7 Days
- DVC & Club33 Last for 5 Days
- D23 & Passholder Last for 3 Days
- Guests Lasts for 1 Day
- Persistent OpenAudio Sessions
- After a lot of work and optimization we're happy to announce that persistent OpenAudio sessions are right around the corner! You will no longer need to reconnect to the audio server every time you switch servers and will be able to move around freely enjoying the sounds of the park
- DVC+ Maxpass option to phones
- Although this is a feature that already exists I just wanted to proper share it. All DVC+ Members can click any fastpass machine with their phone and be taken directly to the ride!
Revamps & Optimizations
- Legacy Spinning Rides
- Teacups, Dumbo, Astro Orbiter & Carousel are all getting a much needed refurb and being remade in our in-house ride system! This will help resolve some frustrating issues we've experienced with ride vehicles falling through the map or audio desync.
- Shops
- Shops & their respective NPCS have recieved some internal improvements such as some new skin designs as well as now using your bank balance rather than requring you to withdraw coins
- Photopass
- We've done some internal optimizations to how photopass was handling server rendering to improve server lag and performance.
- Ride Effects
- Like with photopass, we've identified some simple ways to reduce lag with optimizations to the internal workings on how we display ride effects!
- Economy Balancing
- Katie, Stacy & Trixie have all received some balancing changes based on improvements we're actively making to the server economy
Bug Fixes
- Saber Count
- Fixed an issue causing some saber swings not to be counted
- Settings not saving
- Fixed an issue causing settings to not save your value
- Item Durability
- We're very happy to announce we've converted every ingame item to be 'unbreakable'! This means that you no longer will see the durability bar under the item. This is automatically applied to every new item you can obtain from the server. As for legacy items, we will be working to develop a system to allow people to easily convert their items to remove the bar without losing their possible signatures or custom name!
- Nicknames not clearing
- Resolved a small bug with the nickname expiration system
- Wardrobe Menu randomly reopening for DVC+ members
- Found and resolved an issue where the wardrobe menu was automatically reopening awhile after a user had just changed their outfit.
- Animatronics sometimes not playing
- We have redone our animatronics system and have taken steps to improve the inconsistencies that existed in our current version!
- Tablist presenting names incorrectly
- I am happy to share that we have finally resolved the tablist issue once and forall and will no longer have people randomly bumped to the bottom of the tablist!
- Duels occasionally randomly ending
- Fixed up a few various duels issues!
- Weird Shop Behaviour
- Fixed a bug where shops sometimes wouldn't appear!
- Blaster Sounds playing at incorrect volume
- Although this bug has been fixed many times before and seems to re appear with every major upgrade, we're happy to announce that with the switch to 1.17 the issue has been permenemtly resolved and will no longer be randomly hurting peoples ears from across the map
If you made it this far...
I just wanted to quickly take this moment to thank you. We love working on ImagineFun and seeing how excited you all get about new features or content we're creating! Thank you for all the continous support and we cannot wait to start showing off some of our new features in these next few months
