Welcome!

Version Bump

  • 1.21.10 will be our new base version
    • We’ll continue to let you connect with 1.19 for a little while but things won’t work fully correctly on those earlier versions and it will eventually be phased out entirely
  • Working through bugs, greatly appreciate how much time you all put into reporting bugs and helping us get through fixing them
  • Pinbook bug in particular, we have all the data safe we just have to work through parsing it in a new way, thank you for your patience
  • Screens will be coming back, lighting blocks (like the pretty RGB blocks on the castle) unfortunately will not — Mojang completely removed the packet from the game that we used to create them so it’s physically impossible to add them to the client
    • What could have been (these no longer exist in the new version and aren’t possible in the new version… don’t expect it anytime soon):
    • RIP to the original amazing tree lighting ceremony which was also primarily done with these blocks
  • Have to rework some of the fireworks
  • Another loss… there’s a lore limit enforced on items now. The Minecraft client itself does this, so we can’t change it. The limit is 250 lines. Some of you have noticed you’ve already lost signatures and we’re working on a way to compensate for that (perhaps a voucher with your overflow that you can take the entire stack of overflow signatures and put them all on another item)
    • If you have a locker that is not opening, that is why. Also the VIP hall because it’s trying to load an item one of them has equipped with a ton of signatures
      • Locker ones are easier to resolve than inventory ones, which we have to pull backups for
    • Characters won’t be able to sign if an item is close to the limit (~240), in a perfect world you won’t even be able to drop an item near a character when it’s close to the limit
  • New update has positively impacted hotels and lots of other things!
  • Performance higher than we ever had on 1.12! Server running so much better on the new version — Ex: we had 140 people on one instance and it was at 20 tps, no lag!
  • Overall a very positive update, we’ve gained more than we’ve lost. Excited about what’s to come.

Mystery Boxes

  • Final chance to open your box!
  • Starting early January you’ll have ~3 weeks to collect your prize if you left it unopened. What you missed out on will broadcast to everyone!
  • Stats update:
    • 218 opened
    • 45 unopened

Winter Event

  • YIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIPEE
  • The Winter village will exist for 2 weeks into January, you have from now until 2 weeks into January to play the event and ride the rides
  • The build is so awesome! Thanks for all the positive feedback
  • We’re adding the regular ride achievements too — won’t count towards 100% after the event is over, so it’ll show like they count towards your progress right now but after the event it will not matter to 100%
    • The rides will be in the Hall of Fame!
  • Some event plans: Elf Training + Fashion Show

Winter Fireworks

  • Believe in Holiday Magic returns this Friday!
  • Pretty similar to last year, minus the fun debug blocks
  • The castle will look different at night
    • Speaking of…. the windows on Main Street and in the Sugarpine Hollow all light up at night! Shoutout to our pixel artist Alie who made the new windows

  • Note: You will always be able to join the server on Vanilla without mods. There will never be required mods, just mods to enhance the experience.

Are there any plans for a stats upgrade? I think the /pstats method is hard on the eyes and just want to be able to see it easily with the rest of my stats in the /stats menus
  • We’ll condense it at some point
  • If you type /pstats [prefix] (e.g. /pstats playtime) you can filter your pstats
    • Will dapper dans return to perform at the fire station on Main Street?
  • Surely someday but no promise that it’ll be during the holiday
    • Apart from current rides on the main server being moved TO retro, is there any talk about building old Disney rides or areas that have yet to exist in IF? (i.e. Paradise Pier and more Bugsland)
  • Our general sentiment on older rides is that the majority of players are interested in stuff that currently exists rather than old stuff. We’d rather put the time towards building out stuff that currently exists in the park. Not saying never, but not in the plans or a priority.
    • I know this is almost a month away, but are there any plans to do the mystery boxes again? asking now since the current one ends on jan 3, but the meeting that month will be afterwards on jan 6. i thought it was fun / really interesting to see if people would wait to get double the kc spent, or open to get a prize. so even if it doesn't happen again on that large a scale, i'd love to do something similar again
  • Don’t think we’ll run back mystery boxes, but sure we’ll do some other random challenge thing with similar energy
  • These kinds of things are meant to be one-offs so they retain that special feeling
    • Has there ever been a thought of possibly making a music store for albums, or something to that capacity. (I believe there used to be one on main street years ago irl) I love collecting albums within the game but it’s kind of hard with the large prices in ah and the rarity of album items.
  • Don’t think we have plans for this at the moment
    • Who made Sugarpine Hollow? The whole area is amazingly beautiful and scenic and the builder/s deserve all the props.
  • The event was a collaborative effort! Majority of the build was done by Mr. Midnightb, huge shoutout to him
    • Any word on selling warp effects to an npc? i think i remember either tam or trixie were mentioned as candidates for that…
  • Will eventually go to Trixie, but no ETA
    • Any word on any information about Mayors, clubs, or minigame updates?
  • No

    • When will the next theater show going to be? Also, Soundstage 17 says the last one was on December 20, 2021.

    • Would it be possible for the puffles to have a permanent shop? I think it would be awesome to build the Pet Shop from Club Penguin in /w citizens to buy/sell puffles just like Stacy, Katie, and Pacha's shops.
  • The puffles will not be a permanent installation, however the plan is that anytime we’re doing a token event type thing, they’ll make a return
    • Is there a place where we can find the tomorrowland chirstmas audio? loving the vibe of it (open for answer already)
  • “Star Trader Loop” on YouTube, and then Hong Kong uses “Mannheim Steamroller - Christmas (1984)” :)
    • Where did you get the audio for the sound effects?
  • Slinx mixed it for an anonymous IRL theme park a few years back and recycled it!
    • Will there be new models to fake the castle changing colors for firework shows since blocks can’t change colors?
  • The castle itself will still switch between the states/different designs, just the middle blocks that aren’t there — still looking for solutions if possible
    • Any updates on when the next Magic Pass will be?
  • We’re on a bit of a gap right now, were originally planning on starting one in the new year but might take a little bit of a longer gap
    • Any update on the autograph book drop off system? would we be able to leave it before it even opens for mngs that happen out of our time zone?
  • Would recommend giving your book to a friend when that happens, may be able to create something in the future for events really scheduled in advance, but won’t be possible to just “autosign if a m&g happens”
    • will half of the items from the halloween event be made sellable to tams

    • Is the fact that we're only operating on one server going to be the norm going forward, or is this a test period for server load and whatnot?
